catalyst

I told you, when we were both high sitting on my balcony under the early morning that you were the first man I had ever loved. Our friends sat inside, disapproving. It was the loneliest I think I’ve ever felt, when you hugged me because you couldn’t say anything.

I lay awake beside you that night, my heart breaking all over again. This time though, you were just the catalyst to spark those dying embers back to burning flames. I had no one else to blame.
