Tears for Fears

As I turned into his heat
I felt the tears,
(his fears)
Clinging to the blanket;
I felt them sink into my cheek,
An nvoluntary bid to make
What was his, ours
(In the darkest hours)
So that we’d never be apart
In tthe days and weeks to follow,
Even if he left my bed
Or if I left his heart.
